An announcement from Homecoming Committee:

The Wellsville Firemen and their families would like to thank everyone who volunteered their time to make the Wellsville Fireman's Homecoming a success. An event such as this takes everyone working as a team, striving to meet the same goals. Without your help and donations, it would not have been possible. Thank you!

James E. McMahon
Homecoming Chairman

We will be accepting donations throughout the next year to go toward next year's Homecoming. If you would like to donate, please make checks payable to:

2008 WVFD HOMECOMING

THANK YOU!

On behalf of the entire WVFD, Fireman Jamie McMahon would like to thank everyone for coming out in support of the 2008 WVFD Homecoming. It was a huge success which has encouraged the department to start planning for next year.
As with any event such as the Homecoming, the anxiety of its success can be overwhelming at times, especially when it is the first one held in years. The Wellsville Volunteer Fire Department has a fairly young roster and organizing the Fireman’s Homecoming was a new experience for a number of them. Their enthusiasm and willingness to learn and support their fellow firemen did not go unnoticed. Everyone’s hard work was truly appreciated.
Certificates of Appreciation were given to the following people: Bill Roberts, Buckeye Water District, Dailey’s Recycling and Refuse, Gibby’s Mini Mart, Greg Thrasher, Highlandtown Volunteer Fire Department, Joe Traina, Marsha Eisenhart, Sue Haugh, and Tim Householder.
Jamie would also like to send out a special thank you to the S.O.I. Italian Festival and the Wellsville Riverside Reunion for their support during the planning stages of the Homecoming. Working together for the betterment of the community is what makes Wellsville stand out amongst the rest.
The main addition to next year’s Fireman’s Homecoming schedule will be to offer a fireworks display for the community’s enjoyment. Although Chief Smith has agreed to this, there are many other things which will have to be factored in before this can become a reality. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that next year’s Homecoming works out as well as the 2008 Homecoming.
